Who we are and why we are different
Ask My Architect was founded by Brian MacEntee in 2012. Brian’s principal idea was to create an architectural service that was different; one that was delivered by people for people.
With Brian at the helm, we have built a team of likeminded friendly, dedicated and talented Architectural Professionals. And what we have created is a service where homeowners can feel relaxed, confident and in control. In other words, clients use our design expertise and talent for finding creative solutions to achieve the outcome that they want.
As a result, the practice has gone from strength to strength, with the majority of our work coming from word-of-mouth referrals and repeat comissions.
Simply put, our name is inspired by our ethos; to be a friendly and approachable architectural service that puts clients first and in control. Making the process of transforming homes as simple, exciting and enjoyable as possible.
More than a service
We don’t like to think of Ask My Architect as just a service. We see it as much more than that. It’s a partnership between you and us, one that’s as important as any you have with someone you trust. So it’s our aim to get to know you both as a client and as a person. By listening and talking together in a relaxed environment we get the full picture of what you want, like and need. In turn, you see our value as we explore the opportunities and work together to deliver a space that’s really special.
How we work with you
We break down the process of changing your home in to four simple steps. By doing this we turn the task of undertaking a building project or home refurbishment, in to an easy and straightforward one. We use our expertise to design the space that you want. Then take you through each step of the process until the project is delivered. And the flexibility of our service means that we can be involved in the project as much or as little as you require.
As your point of contact throughout, we are there to be on hand when you need us. We’ll provide our design and building knowledge, be a friendly expert to answer any questions and act as a sounding board for ideas you have along the way.

Principal Architect and Founder
Originally from Fermanagh in Northern Ireland, Brian MacEntee studied architecture at Liverpool John Moores University. Working under renowned Professor Doug Clelland, Brian qualifyied as an architect in 2001. Post-graduation Brian worked with with Professor Clelland on several notable large-scale sustainable housing projects. His experience also includes achieving position of Associate at international practice AFL Architects and being selected by award-winning practice Austin-Smith:Lord to manage the design and delivery of a flagship project for the National Assembly of Wales
In 2012 Brian established Ask My Architect. Here Brian wanted to create something different - a domestic architectural practice that specialises in putting customers first and giving them a pivotal role in the design of their space.
Brian’s friendly, calm and enthusiastic Irish disposition makes customers feel comfortable and completely at ease to express what they want and would like from their home. And this is certainly essential in designing homes that are truly personal to each client. With a drawing ability that brings projects to life and a talent for making spaces work, Brian has brought together a skilled and accomplished team to work with him in providing imaginative and practical solutions. As a result each building is turned in to a beautiful space, and each one is made a place to call home.
In his spare time Brian is a keen rugby and football fan, an interest shared by his wife and two young sons, and can be found coaching the St Peter’s Under 8’s team and the Maindy Corries Under 7’s team. He also enjoys equestrian sports, wakeboarding and hitting the slopes followed by a spot of Après Ski. Brian also dedicates considerable time to local charities.
