The Challenge

Our clients saw the potential of this Victorian property from the outset, as owners of a contemporary furniture business with a passion for quality design they had a strong vision of what they wanted to achieve.

Our scheme included a loft conversion to create a clean and modern additional bedroom and bathroom, and a large rear and side extension to transform the ground floor in to a spectacular modern and light open-plan kitchen, dining and living space with cloakroom and utility room.

The ground floor was designed for maximum flexibility; the kitchen layout incorporates a mobile island to create more floor space when required, underfloor heating and just a single doorway provide further wall space to showcase the clients’ wide collection of designer furniture and art. At the heart of the space is a central structural column clad in CD storage incorporating a state of the art music system for the client to enjoy their large music collection.

Planning permission for this project was received without delay.

The Challenge

A dramatic transformation of this Victorian property has resulted in a well-designed spacious light, contemporary interior whilst retaining the property’s elegant period exterior. With every detail tailored to this family needs, this home is now beautiful both inside and out.

Brian was very receptive to our ideas and captured our imagination with his concepts. The level of service from the Ask My Architect team was extremely good throughout and I would have no hesitation in recommending them to others
