Our challenge was to create an extra bedroom in the loft space for this growing family.

Solution
When you are finding yourself short on bedroom space a loft conversion is a great way to add an extra room, without the expense of moving. This family had finished renovating their entire house and an extra bedroom was next on the list.
Listening to what the client needed from this loft space we set to work. The pitch of the roof meant we needed to add a large dormer window overlooking the garden. To keep this space light and bright we also added two roof lights to the front of the property. As a result, the bedroom feels spacious and light despite having a ceiling that’s lower than the other rooms.
Our design also maximised storage space, with built in cupboards under the eaves and handy bookshelves either side of the chimney breast.

Results
This family home is complete with the new additional bedroom created from this loft conversion. The room is wonderfully light and airy, with its generous proportions ideal for a growing family. It has now become the perfect quiet haven for relaxing in a busy household.
“Our Loft conversion was covered under permitted development meaning we didn’t have to apply for a full planning application. We got the ask my architect team to carry out all the design work including building regulation drawings and structural calculations. They provided us with a great service”
